Rare housing lots on the rise

Since Mick Reid left "corporate life", he has worked as a contract salesman, mostly in the retirement lifestyle area, and is now a sales representative at Noosa Northrise for Tom Offerman Real Estate.

Mick said he was attracted to the position because he could see the potential in the estate and its desirable location on the fridge of Noosa Waters.

"There is no other land around it as perfectly positioned to help those moving out of Noosa Waters - whether it be the age of the home or if the kids have done a runner and they don't need a big rambler of a home any more," he said.

Mick said since the land price was recently reduced, inquiry has increased and resulted in a sale.  "We sold a block last week, which was a good start to the year and we are setting up a range of house-and-land packages as we are anticipating a lot more activity," he said.

The Surf Life Saving Foundation has seen benefits in the estate too.  After its first prize home was won by a Mackay couple who moved into the house this week, it has decided to have another prize home built by Suncity Homes.

Lotteries marketing manager Matt Butler said its supporters preferred prize homes built on the Sunshine Coast and Noosa was seen as a very desirable location.  "Our previous house at Noosa Northrise was a very popular lottery as it depicted a perfect beach lifestyle change with its extensive walking paths and bikeways on your doorstep," he said.  "We have decided to offer another prize home in this same estate at Christmas as a result of this popularity."

Suncity homes co-owner Thene Bell said the next prize home, which would be built on Lot 22, was a single level Sarah Waller-designed home.  "Construction will commence in March and it will open in September," Thene said.  He said the latest three houses the company has built in the estate had received very positive comments since it opened late last year.

"A lot of people are pleased with the concept of the home," he said.  Thene said as a result it had received inquiries from people looking to build in Doonan, Noosa Waters and Tewantin.
